The 49ers player Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest during a robbery attempt in San Francisco on Saturday afternoon. According to the 49ers “Pearsall is in serious but stable condition”. The incident occurred around 3:30 pm when Pearsall was walking alone, a 17-year-old boy attempted to rob Pearsall at gunpoint, resulting in both the Pearsall and the suspect being seriously injured.
The San Francisco Police Chief William Scot said, the suspect tried to run away after attempting the robbery but he was taken into police custody. Police gave them both the Pearsall and the suspect aid and then shifted them to a hospital for further treatment.
According to Jenkins, the charges against the suspect will be filed in juvenile court. There were no indications that Pearsall was targeted because he is a football player and the exact motive of shooting behind all that remains unclear.
Scott said: “We believe this was an attempted robbery, and we are pretty sure in that assessment”. Chief Scott added that “It remains unclear what the suspect was trying to steal” or how many times Pearsall was shot.
